Jasyn is a fantastic coach and trainer! He is a really nice guy
who is lots of fun to work with. He is extremely knowledgeable about
exactly which exercises, drills or stretches each client needs. And,
even more importantly, he has a great talent for motivating his clients,
helping them to set goals, and inspiring them to improve and gradually
achieve their goals.
When I met him on 1 June 2006, I said that my goal was to lower
my 2005 time of 4:53 for the 1500m run to 4:45 at the 1st World Outgames
in Montreal on 31 July 2006. He said: "19 seconds per 100m. You can do
that." After only 8 weeks of track training with Jasyn, I ran 4:43.55,
a personal best time at the age of 49 (I ran my previous best time when
I was 33), and won the silver medal in my age group. I also won silver
in the 10,000m (39:19, another personal best time, faster than when I
was 35), and bronze in the 800m (2:16.06, just above my personal best of
2:15.5 set when I was 29).
I'm now doing winter training in the gym with Jasyn, who has
encouraged me to set new goals for next summer: 4:29 in the 1500m and
2:08 in the 800m, a reduction of around 1 second per 100m in each event.
I'm going to do my best to achieve these new goals, during the summer
when I'll be celebrating my 50th birthday.
With Jasyn you're not getting older, you're getting better!
